3. The Cat and the Canary
Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard are in their element in this 1939 comedy mystery, set in a dark, spooky New Orleans mansion. Wally Campbell (Hope) joins a group of highly eccentric relatives to hear the reading of a will. Who will be the beneficiary? And by the way, insanity runs in the family.

4. Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries
In the 1920s Miss Phryne Fisher returns home to Melbourne, where she is soon caught up in mystery, murder and mayhem. Essie Davis and Nathan Page star in this popular crime drama mystery TV series from Australia.

5. The Haunting of Julia
Grieving mother Julia Lofting leaves her husband and buys an old house in London’s Kensington. Is she really not alone in the house? There is an old mystery to solve as well as present day horror. Mia Farrow and Keir Dullea star in this 1977 movie based on Peter Straub’s novel.

6. After All These Years
Audrey's husband leaves her right after celebrating their thirtieth anniversary, so when he is found murdered Audrey is the obvious suspect. Wendy Malick stars in a lighthearted murder mystery from Hallmark Movies.

7. Fallen (1998) Denzel Washington, John Goodman, Donald Sutherland
Fallen is the kind of movie that those who absolutely do not believe in the supernatural, think, “Well maybe.”

8. Poltergeist The Legacy
An old and highly secret organization, The Legacy is devoted to protecting mankind from the forces of evil. This supernatural mystery television series tells the stories of Dr Derek Rayne, his team at the Legacy’s San Francisco house and their many encounters with things that go bump in the night.
